i am amazed at the beauty that my Grandma has been able to produce for years in such rocky soil. it would have been wondrous to see what she could have done with good soil. she told me that when she first started her garden here back in the 70’s – she worked and worked to clear the rocks out of the first 4-6″ of dirt. but the rocks just keep rising to the surface. my uncle says they must be affected less by gravity, since they are always rising to the surface.
i said “grandma, there are some flowers out there that look like crocuses, what are they?” she responded, “they are winter crocuses”.
sharing with mosaic monday & color me weekly & you capture-flowers
Lovely photos – and what a sweet colour palette with those hearts.
She certainly does have a lot of beautiful flowers! I’m grateful that I have good soil; otherwise, I’d never be able to grow anything.
great shots….I wonder if there is a scientific explanation for the rising rock syndrome…gotta google it now…
She really must have a green thumb. I just learned about winter crocuses yesterday at another Mosaic Monday offering featuring them. They’re quite wonderful.
What a lovely way to feature those autumn crocus with your heart palette.
