I remember the first time I saw the ocean as a child. I was so enthralled with it and that feeling as never left me. I have a river and lake Erie near me, but it isn’t the same thing. I understand what you are saying about the peace and calm of the sea. I do not live near one, so it has been a long time since being at the beach.
